    1. That’s a rhetorical question, right? Because RELIGION is the obvious (and indisputable) answer.

  1. When one of Washington DC’s major galleries displayed plaster copies of classical Greek and Roman statues they had to have separate viewing days for men and women.

    1. Saw a great museum in Athens and one in Delphi , classic nudes everywhere, gaggles of school kids ,no one offended . I was watching both the teen boys and girls . Immune after years in nude statues everywhere

  2. Touching it is supposed to bring luck. I admit to giving the relevant part a quick grope when I was there, but thought better of actually rubbing it …

      1. Any others there, actually we are going to Prague in spring, and Budapest, I hear lots of statues there .and heading as far at st, Petersburg

  3. Wouldn’t it be nice if ‘somehow’ a pic of the actual human boy this was modelled after surfaced? Since this statue is so nice looking, it only shows the actual human boy model is even better looking.

The only question would remain: Is the “hung” factor real or embellished or even possibly the opposite to not “embarrass” the real model?

  4. I remember seeing him on my first trip abroad back in 2003. Wish I remembered the story of the boy.

  5. The boy with the golden penis… Youth (Czech: Mládí) is an outdoor bronze sculpture of a nude young man by Miloš Zet, installed in 1965 outside the Toy Museum at Prague Castle in Prague, Czech Republic. (toys indeed!)

  6. It gave me quite a shock when I saw this – I wasn’t aware of its existence until I walked into the courtyard of the Toy Museum. Yes – I did give it a gentle stroke (for luck, you understand). One of my fondest memories of Prague.
