The internet is being flooded with all kinds of hilarious and/or disturbing videos by people who are really not happy about everyone having the same basic rights. It’s quite a show they’re putting up…

Those poor, oppressed homophobes who can’t be open about their hate!

This pastor never heard of the separation of church and state…

…and this lady takes the case for dramatic performance (Warning: LOUD!)

Not sure what’s worse, her hateful tirade or her making a vertical video.

  1. In the 1960s, one of the other big issues dividing the nation was interracial marriages. Some states it was legal for, say. black people and white people to get married, other states it was totally illegal. This was due to religious beliefs at the time that said that such things were Forbidden By God. (I haven’t been able to find a verse in the Bible that says so, but… well…. they believed it fervently ANYway… oO )

Some time in the late 60s, a mixed couple who’d been married in one of the states where it was legal moved to a state where it wasn’t… and then one night they got raided by the police because, seeing as how it wasn’t legal to GET married there, the authorities in that state interpreted that mean it wasn’t lawful for them to be IN the state AS an interracial married couple either!

This was fought all the way to the Supreme Court, who declared all such laws unConstitutional. All states had to honor all marriages that were legal in some other state, and they also could no longer declare interracial marriages illegal anywhere in the USA, either. This decision happened in 1968. I wonder how long it took for the shouting and the fallout to be over about THAT one. Might be a predictor as to how long before the bigots finally STFU and GTFA on this one. Months? Years? Oo

  2. Gary Cass says: “Science proves living a homosexual ‘lifestyle’ is devastating, medically and psychologically.”

    That is a blatent LIE.

“The real triune supreme court in heaven has already ruled. Marriage is a union of one man and one woman. We can confidently celebrate that which ‘god’ has ordained because time and eternity are on our side”

Again, a LIE simply because he hasn’t even read that bible he tries to quote. Throughout the old testament, “god ordained” poligamy — several characters of that fictitious book took multiple wives (not to mention all that incest from “Adam & Eve” and “Jonah” after that so-called “flood.”)

  3. I have to giggle a bit whenever I see and hear all these stupid religious bigots go on and on about “the definition and/or sanctity of marriage.” Why? Because now, with same-sex marriage now totally legal everywhere in America, the real “onslaught” towards religious-right is about to begin — and it will be completely natural and they can’t and won’t be able to do anything about it. And this is the natural expression of affection that same-sex couples will have and show in public to express their love — the same way the religious show their affection towards each other.

What goes around, comes around. Religion, welcome to “comeuppance.”

  4. Warning! For those about to watch those videos make sure to have an ample supply of Gravols.

    1. @Dan:
“For those about to watch those videos make sure to have an ample supply of Gravols.”

      1. After watching the first 2, I couldn’t go past the 1 minute mark on the 3rd one with the disgusting bitch.

      2. I don’t know what Gravol is …. is that a Canadian thing?

      1. “”for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting and dizziness due to motion sickness.””

Thought you also had that in the U.S. :-P Hell that’s how I thought you could survive listening to them weird politicians of yours.

        1. Interesting point. But I don’t know it by that name … I’m not into drugs so I don’t know the “lingo.”

          1. “Dramamine”

Thanks. I know about that name …. I’ve been on a boat a few times. :-)

  5. These people are up in arms because of one thing, mainly: Christianity survives by making men (and women) feel sexual guilt for same sex impulses which they have, and which they are trying very hard to repress in themselves. The religion imposes guilt, and then it absolves it – magic – with belief! Look at the long list of evangelical leaders who’ve been caught with rent boys or other young males. It’s not to hard to figure out what’s going on. Even poor homophobe / deeply repressed homosexual Ted Haggard complained (correctly) that his fellow Christians couldn’t allow him to admit his so-called “sin”, why not? If they’re all “sinners” then who cares – why make a big deal about it, why not admit their own “sins” too (they have them according to Christianity, by definition)? The answer to that is that the virulent evangelical born-again Christianity cannot survive in its present form without enforcing this code of silence on what everyone’s “sin” actually is.

    1. @Wordworth:
Christianity survives by making men (and women) feel sexual guilt for same sex impulses which they have, and which they are trying very hard to repress in themselves.”

Religion certainly does that (ALL of them, not just christianity), but that’s NOT how RELIGIONS (again, ALL of them) survive for the next generation. They survive by forcing the young and brainwashing them. Forcing the young into their churches/mosques, ETC by their PARENTS who are just as brainwashed, adding the fact the parents uses these churches/etc as “robotic babysitters”.

Without these two elements, religion simply would not and could not “survive”. The biggest reason for the eventual demise of religions is and will be the … 1) Internet and 2) younger set growing up simply not believing in all the bullshit religion cooks up every generation, thanks in great measure to the churches’ ad naseum responses to gays and gay rights.

  6. I’m not going to flame this thread with a theological debate. Suffice it to say that if you oppose same sex marriage, then marry someone of the opposite sex. I thought of that all by myself.
Whatever your faith is or isn’t, there is one proper role for religion to play even in this secular republic and Tommy Jefferson said it best, “…the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God…” (and then) “…that are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights…”

The first part of the quotation from the Declaration of Independence makes the case that we have both a natural right and a divine right to declare our independence that trumps even the divine right of H.M. King George III to hold us in his empire. It legitimizes the American Revolution. The second part of the quotation provides the necessary ideological foundation for both the Revolution itself and the Constitution and government to come – that our Liberty is God-given, and thus outside the jurisdiction of government – Britain’s or our own – to abridge or infringe upon. Only by denying that the state is the source of our rights can the state be denied the power to take them back. Symbolically, Liberty is the spouse that God, in His merciful omnipotence, has married to the Americans, and what God has joined together, let no man, or government, tear asunder.

Penboy, you may kiss the bride.

  7. @Horslelips

“”the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God…” (and then) “…that are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights…” “”

Good thing you weren’t going to flame this thread with a theological debate, eh?

First of all nature as a sexual guide. From fish to insects to plants, all have examples of being able to morph into one gender to the other. Some have both genders included in the same body. Others seem to be genderless only to use the gender most needed at a certain moment. It would seem that nature has a lot more variety and flexibility that even the gods if you ask me. Nature also shows almost no restraints as to sexual behaviour while the gods seem to deny humans the same sexual freedoms they seem to have if we go by what is said in mythology(bible).

Any king or president or dictator that would tell me he has god given legitimate ruling over men deserves a rope with 13 twists in it! Freedom can never be given by a government, or religion, only taken away by a government, or religion.

    1. Nature shows enormous restraint regarding sexual behavior. Animal courtship rituals are involved and competitive, and females will only offer themselves to the best looking and strongest males of the breed. Human females should take note and learn.

In the 18th century, kings worldwide were in universal agreement that they enjoyed a God-given right to rule over their subjects. Freedom was theirs to bestow or revoke at discretion. It was those who disagreed who got the rope with 13 twists. To give yourself a scare, research the unused, reserved, but still legal powers of the British crown. The royal House of Windsor has been at this game for a thousand years, and they are very, very good at it. They won’t hang you (for now) for disagreeing, but those men in the black bearskin caps and red coats, and the armored men on those big black horses would like to have a word with you. I hope they change your mind before you meet…the Gurkhas.

Americans discovered the best way keep both government and religion at bay was to have them both, and keep them separate and disunited from each other. Further, we balance them intramurally. Religion is kept distracted by freedom of religion – every denomination must compete openly in the marketplace of ideas for parishioners and funding. Government is weakened by the checks and balances of deliberately divided powers and the decentralization provided by the concept of States’ rights. By denying religion authority over government, and then subordinating government to God, we isolate and protect Liberty from both. And, if despite our best efforts, something still goes wrong, there’s the 2nd Amendment. And don’t take that lightly. It was as recently as 1946 that armed citizens overthrew a corrupt government in Athens, Tennessee.

  8. @Milkboys

“”Not sure what’s worse, her hateful tirade or her making a vertical video.””

Lets be honest here. Would you really want to see her in a horizontal video?

  9. another religious freak. that’s why i put my self away from them to THINK not to BLINDLY OBEY

  10. As a Christian, I am going to sound offensive in what I say next, but hear me out. I found quite a lot of humour and irony in this article. I say this as Christianity is kinda famous for getting things wrong through misinterpretation(see or to see what I mean). As someone stated above, this is a near exact replica of the 1960’s civil rights movement. Most beliefs associated with the Bible came from the Catholic Church or the Victorians who couldn’t explain it. Marriage may be described as being between man and woman but it’s part of the old law which is obsolete (see the youtube link) and due to this America cannot handle the fact that this is the case. Look at the KKK, it was their mission to eradicate the coloured, look what happened to them! History repeats itself, so the WBC will be gone soon. As a (closeted) christian homosexual, I will denounce any homophobe I come across in church or life and I will not respect them. I saw a banner on buzzfeed from a pride celebration which I want to end on as it explains the flaw in their ideas, “If God hates gays, why did he make us so cute?”
    Amen Brother.

    1. About the old law it reminds me of the family fight that starts when a new will and testament supersedes the old one.

Funny thing is that mythological Jesus is quoted as saying the golden rule. That alone should be the ultimate guide on how to live life and you don’t even need a religion to follow it.

      1. That’s partly the reason I refuse to become part of the many denominations that Christianity has to offer. It’s rather hilarious how so few Christians actually listen to what Jesus said. His main teaching is love your neighbour as you love yourself and love God, if many people feel that they should go out of their way to cause peoples lives to be difficult due to what they love, they should not be allowed to call themselves a Christian. Even without the influence of Christianity, many people say it’s unnatural yet there are thousands of animals which display homosexual behaviour yet only one displays homophobia. I think we know which one it is.

Your old law analogy is actually quite a good visual image for that whole complicated system of what should and shouldn’t be believed, it reminds of something Dave Allen may have considered as a sketch!

        1. @unknown:
“It’s rather hilarious how so few Christians actually listen to what Jesus said. His main teaching is love your neighbour as you love yourself and love god …”

Let’s just see how “jesus” loveth his family and neighbors:

Matthew 10:24-27: “jesus” sayeth: “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”

Luke 14:26 “jesus” again sayeth: “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”

Mark 9:43-48 “jesus” says that self mutilation can save you from burning in hell, he says that if a body part causes you to sin, to cut that body part off. OK, christians & muslims, when are we going to hear of mass penis removals?

          The “proverbial” christian:

Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction

[… and this one is great re: homosexuals]:

Proverbs 10:18: The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.

Proverbs 14:15: The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps.

Proverbs 15:2: The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly. 15:7: The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools.

Proverbs 18:2: A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.

Proverbs 29:9: If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.

          1 Corinthians 1:27: But god chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; god chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;

Matthew 5:5: “Blessed are the meek [gays?], for they shall inherit the earth.” [Nope, we’re far from “inheriting the earth”]

John 3:2-5: Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

[… and this one is hilarious …. since that red wine is so tasty, let’s call it “blood,” shall we? … and that bread? not from those wheat fields cooked with flour, but from heaven?]:
John 6:50-71: This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. …

Just curious, but why are you so “unknown”?

          1. I am so “unknown” for a variety of reasons. One is I am fairly distrusting of the people around me for many reasons and I don’t want them to have any “ammunition” as I have a long history of being the victim of school yard bullies. Also I am a loner, and I especially hate being at the centre of attention so I prefer to stay in the shadows and receive little praise for what I do. Finally I am in a fairly Christian and Homophobic society where people believe in “curing” homosexuality; I don’t want to take the chance someone who knows me is also on this website. Plus I’m kinda embarrassed by some of the people I know due to how much of a hipster they are and also how naive they can be. Hope this answers your question.

  11. man, they are looking for redemption! so, give me a mag 10 and i will deliver them for their pain!

    1. Wow. Ithaca stopped making the Mag 10 way back in 1989. You can still find them – they go for around $475-$600 for regular versions, presentation grades can run closer to two grand. My favorite version was the Roadblocker which had a shorter 21 inch barrel and was intended for police work. Unfortunately, never sold well. If you ever shot a 10 gauge, even an autoloader, you’d know why. OUCH! Enjoy.

      1. horsey:

I’m almost in “awe” of your knowledge and ‘insight’ of guns.

It’s just too bad (and sad) you don’t show us any of that same knowledge and ‘insight’ about that “god” and religion you espouse so much.

  12. Lot’s of thing to say:
First the crazy bigot bitch is gold I can’t stop laughing
The pastor. I am afraid lots of people still believe what those morons who only want money from their “capitalist god” and yes what kind of ape does not separate religion and state?
Our homophobe friends is just disgusting to see how they victimize themselves like jews did
Finally is funny to see how all this shit comes from the United Bigots of America, I thought it was USA not that but whatever

    1. @Rect0r [Mexican]:
“Finally is funny to see how all this shit comes from the United Bigots of America, I thought it was USA not that but whatever”

Considering how Mexico bows to the catholic pope, it’s pathetically rich how you think America is so “bigoted”.

Mexico has always been and is still now one of the most bigoted countries re: homosexuality and [now] same-sex marriage.

Before you think you can talk about America’s politics and religion, how about cleaning up your own acts first — Mexico’s governments (both at federal and local levels) are some of the most corrupt in our Western hemisphere. Care to talk about your drug cartels and the mayhem they cause?

    2. @Rect0r:
“I am afraid lots of people still believe what those morons who only want money from their ‘capitalist god’ …”

Yes, it’s amazing that they pray and worship some “perfect god” who just can’t seem to understand how to handle money:

A rabbi, a catholic priest, and a baptist minister meet at coffee shop and while awaiting their orders get to discussing distribution of the offering.

The baptist says how when the service is over he draws a 4 foot circle on the floor, stands in the middle and tosses the plate of money into the air. What falls inside is set aside for god’s purposes, that which falls outside goes in his pocket.

The catholic priest reports how his method is similar, but what falls into the circle is his.

The rabbi chuckles, shakes his head and asks, “Do you seriously think that is correct? I too toss it into the air I just figure if god hasn’t helped himself to what he wants, it’s mine.”

  13. !: Not Alone:

Oh boo hoo. Yes, you are not alone in your beliefs. Even though you and many of your sympathizers have been so perfectly understanding with your so-called gay friends, you still can’t accept them completely. To you, they will always be second class people in comparison to yourselves. You’re so bothered by it you routinely have to set your little demented imaginations on warp ten to visualize what every one of those ‘friends’ of yours are doing in the privacy of their bedrooms, don’t you? Methinks anyone who does that is probably secretly turned on by it. Why else would you spend so much time dwelling on it? How about this? It isn’t any of your f*cking business what other people do. I’d probably be highly disgusted what you are doing in your bedrooms with your heterosexual partner, but I don’t dwell on it or complain about it. Grow Up.

    2: Delusional Religious Freak:

This poor soul has been so incredibly brainwashed, it’s incredibly sad. It makes me shudder to imagine the indoctrination and mental abuse he must have been subjected to as a child. :(

    3: Insane Crazy Religious Lady:

Holy sh!t Batman. At least this dizzy retarded brainwashed woman doesn’t have a wedding ring on. No one could possibly stand being married to that level of insanity.

  14. I have indeed talked to a Christian pastor about my sexuality and i am bisexual. I had a girlfriend all through school although i always had my eye on a certain guy and one night him and i had a long talk and ended up being boyfriends for six yrs.i was so scared because i am Catholic and didnt like the Catholic Church, so i went wkly to a Christian church in Hopkinton n.y and discussed my situation and i was always told i would burn in hell because of my being bisexual. I was amazed at what i was told by my pastor, he told me a story that his brother was gay and he still found love for him, i was told that its people like us who thrive to be different, and not to be scared or embarrassed by my lifestyle. I dont have a choice i am me and i cant change that fact, although i have tried.i am.sick of people playing god. You people who have hate or disgust for us need to realize ur not christ. Its not up to u to judge us,i will and have let you cast the first stone and u will one day get your judgement.
