Little Game

Little Game was Benny’s debut single and the music video offers a dark alternative pop narrative on gender roles and gender equality. The video demonstrates the skewed enforcement of falling into masculine and feminine archetypes.

  1. I made a contribution… Gosh :)

also, Only Me: Josh is Bi (or was that Pan) s*xual so he probably derives twice as much pleasure from the video than the rest of us.

    1. Josh identifies as pan. Really interesting exploration of gender norms, though; I think the lad is only 15 but Tumblr seems to like it rather a lot. Blue and pink has only been a thing for the last few decades. We’re living in a society where gender norms are reinforced strongly yet it isn’t as clear cut as that.

  2. I am old, but thanks to Josh I’m learning how some people feel so different inside. I always identified as a male, but it’s apparent not everyone does, and vise versa. Thank you for teaching me. :)

  3. The best art is so visually appealing and aesthetically well executed that it can completely entertain without any other considerations for deeper meaning – this breaks my heart given certain recent and historic occurrences concerning gender variances and how western “civilization” appears to be conditioning children to respond to same.

Thanks Josh! – it would be VERY unrealistic of me to always expect happy happy feels…

  4. Those were the days my friend
    We thought they’d never end
We’d sing and dance forever and a day
We’d live the life we choose
    We’d fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.

  5. As interesting as this video is, I prefer Boys Will Be Boys immediately afterward.

The comments for it are interesting as well.
