Next month, Netflix is premiering Alex Strangelove, a new teen sex comedy with a gay lead character directed by Craig Johnson, the writer/director behind True Adolescents starring Mark Duplass and Skeleton Twins starring Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader.

Alex Strangelove is about Alex Truelove, a straight-laced and driven high school senior with a wonderful girlfriend and a bright future ahead of him. After his buddies discover that he and his girlfriend, Claire, haven’t had sex yet,

Alex becomes obsessed with losing his virginity. But things get complicated when he meets Elliot, a handsome and charming gay kid from the other side town, who unwittingly sends Alex into a sexual identity panic. What results is a hilarious and moving exploration of love, sex and friendship in modern high school.

      1. I agree totally.

And the true reason for this is very simple: America has been and IS STILL held hostage by our extreme religious right and the “cooperation” between them and large corporations — with essentially the same goals: money (profit, donations, or whatever you want to call it) … and as close to complete as possible: power/control over as much of our society as they can get.

    1. I enjoyed the Fosters for far longer than I should have. Finally I just gave up because I kept thinking – Can’t they have one happy day!? Ever!?

  1. Hmm, another show about a high school student starring someone who was in college five years ago. That’s a nope.

    1. What do you mean? Not being American, I’ve always thought this “high school” thing was something American adults who failed gymnasium went to at a later point in their lives, after first having worked a few years. You’re not actually saying high school is something teens are attending, in your American states? o.o
