In Carry On Cleo, Cleopatra was described as “The Lay of Ancient Rome”, and “The Siren of the Nile”, by Mark Anthony played by Sid James. When Julius Caesar played by Kenneth Williams declared that he hoped Cleo, the “Siren” of the Nile didn’t go off, was told “Don’t worry, there’s a Deep “Frieze” surrounding her bathroom.
