  1. Reading that article about the high schoolers. Just bizarre.
So most of the teens knew about it & no adult did, & it went on for years without complaints & now you want to throw teens in jail under felony charges over it.

Society, just deal with the fact that teenagers have sexuality & camera phones. You don’t have to like it, it just is. It doesn’t mean you have to approve of older people hassling them, if you can make Romeo & Juliet close in age exemptions for actual sex I’m sure you can make exceptions for when it’s virtual.

  2. About that religious kids and atheist kids study, I do not have time to write my review on it now (have my own thesis to finish XD), but I can say that its design and statistical analysis (linear regression model) is flawed.
If you would like to discuss it, I will give some input when I have the time.

^^ This, exactly. Well said. Thank you.

    .

I wonder what they’re going to do when 12-11-10 year olds become more curious with their phones — you know, the phones their parents give them so “they’re safe”.

Playing “house/doctor/etc” are the natural, normal curiosity games that children play/do way before high school.

  4. AUSTRALIA > Sooner or later. Time is on our side.
SLOVENIA > If not now, then next time. Time is on our side.
TRANS DAY > Looked at the list – only one victim was under 21. If you’re going to do something as radical as a sex change, get your concealed carry permit. You might need it.
MEXICAN SKIRT DAY > Boys in skirts, girls in ties, cross-dressing does nothing to end gender roles – it just celebrates each other’s. The kids should just go naked.
COLUMBIA > Another step forward, but really, their problems are the guerilla war and the cartels. If the state fails, as Mexico is slowly doing, it’s all for nothing.
HIGH SCHOOL SEX > I have news for the panicked parents and crusading cops – their delicate little kids aren’t just swapping dirty selfies, they’re also fucking like rabbits. And they’re big-time in to porn, experimenting with gay sex, group sex, and they’re smoking dope, and drinking alcohol, and when they go shopping for munchies, lube and condoms, some of them aren’t returning their shopping carts to the designated area. “Hey, Teacher, Leave them kids alone…”
RELIGIOUS KIDS > Stupid study. Cultural and religious traditions vary widely, and the results would have been different if the study targeted specific faiths in specific places.
PORN WATCHERS > Aw c’mon, everything I really need to know in life I learned from porn.
PRONOUNS > Sorry, but he/she, sir/ma’am, Mr./Miss/ Mrs. M/F, Ladies/Gentlemen, etc., works just fine for me. If you’re something else, that’s your problem. Hmmm, I guess I’m one of those harsher, less generous religious kids.
CENSORS > That’s the beauty of the free Internet – censorship has become powerless, almost obsolete. I have no problem with media broadcasters exercising content restraint, that’s a business decision, but I’m happy that whatever I’m in the mood for, I can find on my computer. And the very last thing I give a fuck about is whether porn is ‘artistic.’

  5. @horsey:
“RELIGIOUS KIDS > Stupid study. Cultural and religious traditions vary widely, and the results would have been different if the study targeted specific faiths in specific places.”

An expected reply from you (and most probably, FOX “News” as well). Actually, the results wouldn’t be any different “if the study targeted specific faiths in specific places” if it was conducted by an objective organization/poll takers. Ahh, but you don’t want any objective studies, do you? It wouldn’t do well with you in your church community.

You call this “stupid” just as you would call the now recognized PEW poll (http://www.pewforum.org/2010/09/28/u-s-religious-knowledge-survey) that Atheists are more intelligent about religions than the religious are.

You religious just can’t understand and accept that the primary reasons there ARE Atheists are simply because we’ve:

    …… Actually READ the books.

…… Are curious about and looked into these “CLAIMS” of religious books and found that they NEVER HAPPENED.

…… Came to the conclusion that if there is no “magic”, we simply won’t believe in any of it.

Don’t you think, by now, you should get with the program of FACTS and TRUTH?

  6. Ooo ooo fight fight fight! :-)

Is there anyone here who suspects that the girls who are sending nude pics around on their phones are going to regret this 10 years from now and usher in a conservative, repressive combined right/left sexual politics which Andrea Dworkin never dreamed of? One thing that happened in the 1960s and 1970s was that “free love” happened, and a lot of very vocal women ended up not liking that and this was one driving force behind the sexually repressive feminist movement… which led to the second wave in which they tried to free women from sexlessness, resulting in even more victimhood than ever before. Are we not repeating this process again, but in a much more volatile way? It almost makes me want to move to Mars.

  7. Penboy, the PEW study is undoubtedly correct in its findings – Christians ‘know’ the least about Christianity, and that’s perfectly fine because unbeknownst to atheists and PEW, Christianity isn’t about book-learnin’ – it’s about a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The first (and best) Christians had no Bibles, no concordances, nothing more than perhaps a letter from St. Paul to read, or a sermon from an itinerant Disciple quickly passing through their town trying to keep one step ahead of the Roman soldiers pursuing him. The ferocious persecution by Emperor Nero The Incendiary began before the Gospels were even written. And yet, with nothing but word-of-mouth evangelism to rely on, thousands went willingly to the cruelest possible deaths the Romans could devise. What these martyrs had was the only thing they could have had – a real-time, personal relationship with the risen and living Christ, that was undeniable and irresistible. As Jesus said to the doubting St. Thomas, “…blessed are those who have not seen, but believe.”

The devilish thing about the Roman persecutions was how easy it was for a Christian to escape. In every Roman court was a small altar bearing the image of Caesar illuminated by an oil lamp, and next to it, a container of incense. When an accused Christian was haled before an Imperial magistrate, he only had to go to the altar, pick up a pinch of incense and throw it into the flame. That act signified acceptance of the Imperial cult, he was acquitted and released. That easy. Yet, only a very few faint of heart took that opportunity, the rest went prayerfully into the arenas.

Note: There survives from the early 4th century a dispatch from the Prefect of Jovians and Herculaneans (Praetorian Guard) to the Emperor Diocletian: “Divine Caesar, we have discovered that half the slaves in the Imperial household are Christians, and so is your wife. What, Sire, are your orders?” The Emperor’s response is lost, but we do know that the entire palace staff was tortured to death.

  8. @horsey:
“the PEW study is undoubtedly correct in its findings – Christians ‘know’ the least about Christianity, and that’s perfectly fine …”

It’s about time that religious such as yourself actually acknowledge the true facts about the bullshit of religions and obviously, the widespread ignorance of the minions who “believe”. What’s pathetic is the attitude such as yours, “and that’s perfectly fine” and the level of how determined you are to stay ignorant about this world-encompassing poison.

“because unbeknownst to atheists and PEW, Christianity isn’t about book-learnin’”

Hardly unbeknownst to Atheists and now major polls. And, again, it’s good, finally, that you further admit to this bullshit, “Christianity isn’t about book-learnin’”, because it’s quite frankly, the absolute opposite of learning.

“it’s about a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Well, you keep thinking that even though there is not a single piece of evidence (public documentation) for the “life” of this fabricated character. Please, save yourself the embarrassment by not trying to “assert” [LIE] there is — because it’s only through [circular] religious documents that this character appears.

    .

And, “devilena”, you are truly pathetic. You will bow to and agree with anyone who is against me.

  9. «PRONOUNS > Sorry, but he/she, sir/ma’am, Mr./Miss/ Mrs. M/F, Ladies/Gentlemen, etc., works just fine for me. If you’re something else, that’s your problem. Hmmm, I guess I’m one of those harsher, less generous religious kids.»

I often wonder who these saddoes are that worry about such things. Haven’t they got anything better to do in life? Let them speak Finnish (and presemably Estonian) and they won’t have to concern themselves about these matters. Non-linguists do not understand the difference between grammatical gender and sexual gender.

  10. “Porn watchers are less sexist than other men.”

Just don’t say that so a Swedish feminist hears you Josh, or they’ll start a Twitter or Facebook campaign against you…
