It’s a feeling most queer people face at some point. Even if you’re out and completely comfortable with your sexuality, holding hands with a partner in public can still feel awkward and tense. Sometimes, it’s easier to just let go. That’s what the campaign #HoldTight is about…

The ad seems especially important for queer people in Australia now. The country has yet to legalize same-sex marriage and political candidates have some pretty concerning ideas about what being LGBTQ means. Read on…

  1. These “gingerly” expressions are exactly what I meant — and a whole lot more — in my reply to horsey in the thread, Tender Thursday *20. For every step forward, we have to take at least 2 backward because of the ignorant and hateful politics … and RELIGION.

  2. Silliness beyond measure. I taught international students for years. Latina girls held hands with their friends all the time and I’m glad to say ignored barbarians. In many other countries it is routine for men friends to hold hands in public. Gay/straight/bi who cares holding hands is a wholesome sign of love and friendship.

      1. I am convinced that VP Pence is a closet case. Why would he assemble gay teenage boys in large numbers for so-called conversion therapy? It is my experience, as a retired high school teacher, that those who are angriest at gays have sexual identity issues. He’ll be caught in bed with some hot young thing mark my words.

I don’t know, but he may well be one. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Look at his wife — interesting that he keeps himself in pretty good shape but she’s … well, let’s say, has had her share of McDonald’s fries and more from the fryer.

” He’ll be caught in bed with some hot young thing mark my words.”

The sooner the better for this administration. Anything to bring them all down to the truth.
