  1. These are 2 males, right? The artistry is quite ambiguous [in the details], to say the least. And because of your use of “traps.” Also, is this art classified as Manga?

    1. It’s from manga. From “Hunter x Hunter”. The manga (which also has two anime variants) generally centers around Gon (the black haired kid). They’re a bit younger than in the above pic. He meets up with Killua (white haired kid) and they become friends and adventure together. There’s 2 other protagonists but they’ve now been getting more “screen time” in the latest manga updates – sort of. There’s nothing in the manga to suggest they are ‘more than friends’ but this is the internet after all, and a lot of people ship them, because of how much they support each other.

      1. Thank you for that information. :-)

Well, the above image surely suggests (at the very least) they are ‘more than friends’ (and with pretty good benefits, too).

        1. Certainly the closest thing would be Killua’s “proud of his friend” face as well as being embarrassed every time Gon compliments him. In the manga/anime, they’re not really as effeminate as they’re shown here (Killua’s giant 6 pack). I imagine it’s the art style and the fact they are aged.

  2. ~Loved ‘Hunter x Hunter’ both the 1999 version and the 2011 redo. The relationship between them is what makes it worth watching.

  3. Thanks for the source. The gif is the first animation to turn me on! Now I must find Hunter x Hunter to watch.

  4. This is a fairly low thing to do… Take drawings from someone who specifically requests on his page that they not be reposted and repost them. When did this become your style?…

  5. Fanart and manga can also make characters younger, with the optional cat ears and tail, like turn the beautifully drawn 18 year old Alexy of My Candy Love: http://67.media.tumblr.com/d71bae775f475ac0fb9c54d78d418b9d/tumblr_mr8vzwfpE31rq27hyo6_1280.jpg (the blue haired one) into a young version of himself in the Smile fanart of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1eiFPrE1AM (Sorry for the terrible video, I couldn’t find the original fanart.)

Too bad Alexy is the only character you can’t date, because he is gay and the sexist otome (for teen girl players) game engine sucks.

  6. There is Manga and Shotacon or Shota. Gay and Straight. Shotacon (ショタコン shotakon?), sometimes shortened to shota (ショタ shota?), is a Japanese slang portmanteau of the phrase Shōtarō complex (正太郎コンプレックス shōtarō konpurekkusu?) and describes an attraction to young boys, or an individual with such an attraction.[citation needed] Outside Japan, the term is used less often with this meaning. It refers to a genre of manga and anime wherein pre-pubescent or pubescent male characters are depicted in a suggestive or erotic manner. et al
