  1. As an Australian, I am astounded and ashamed that in 2017 my government is spending over $120 million on a “non binding plebiscite” to determine if our government will consider changing the law to allow marriage equality – if the yes vote gets up, there is no guarantee that the parliament will vote to change the law. No other country that has passed these laws has done something this stupid.

The no campaigners have constantly stated they are being bullied by the yes campaign however, it is the no campaigners that have had attack ads broadcast on television that contain blatant lies and talks about issues that are outside of the subject.

In todays society, people born in the seventies are not forward thinkers – it’s all about how something affects them in the here and now rather than what they can do to make things better for their children. The older generation are just stuck in the rut that their parents created for them so we can kind of give them a pass. People born in the eighties onwards are the ones who tend to be more open to new ideas.

While that little boy riding around town putting rainbow flags in mail boxes and promoting the yes vote is uplifting, I’m am hoping his parents have sat down and explained the importance of his actions in the grand scheme of things. I am more inclined to think that the young teen in Bega giving out the Rainbow socks totally understands the importance of promoting marriage equality – somehow I think he’s going to need it in his future.

When I got my ballot paper, I voted yes. I don’t particularly believe in marriage but what right do I have to deny the ability to marry the person they love to someone else?

  2. Finding out what kids think is a cute campaign. But kids don’t know enough about the world one way or another to make an informed decision.

    1. This is not a topic were you have to make a “informed decision”. A analogy with racism: “Should people with a different skin colour have the same rights?”, random kid: “Yeah”. You don’t need to study for that.

      1. Simply stated!

Updated scientific knowledge is clearly in benefit of social progress. Yet attitudes towards same-sex marriage don’t seem to respond to it. Rather, how old people are is what appears to show a tight correlation with their political views. It’s the same thing with climate change. The scientific evidence for it has existed for decades. Younger people are just more inclined to give a fuck now.

This video was heartwarming and uplifting :’)

  3. What’s interesting with these “public opinions” and polls is that the minor (say, 15 through 17 — just before 18) is rarely, if ever, asked and respected for their views on subjects like:

    1) Do you consider yourself to be heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual?

    2) Do you consider yourself to be a religious believer of any god, agnostic towards any god, or an atheist towards any god?

It’s like they don’t exist — and not just for the questions asked, but also for statistical probabilities of these social ideas. We do anything to come up with statistical probabilities before, during and after elections, but don’t even ask for opinions of the younger set. And then we make “conclusions” of these social issues without even considering that these younger persons can and do make a difference in different ways with social issues.

  4. What can they do other than just repeating what the others has promoted during their short lives? They’ve believed it to be right, whether yes or no. It’s soon for them to think deeply around this and know the consequences and outcomes of either decisions.
For health of a society, the Lord affirms the definition of a right marriage. This is not stupidity of the old ones nor the uplifting of the new generation. This is what to avoid experiencing before losing.

    1. “For health of a society, the Lord affirms the definition of a right marriage.”

You come in here supposedly in favor of same-sex relationships, and then you spout out pure BULLSHIT: the Lord affirms the definition of a right marriage.

Stay out of here if that’s all the “intelligence” you can muster up in your brainwashed feeble mind.

      1. I’m here, because I’m interested in boys. This is what I am. This is different from what I should be.
And dear friend, Penboy, please don’t assault each time on me. This is what I believe to be right. Anyone’s believes are honorable and everyone has right to announce his believes. No one is forced to agree nor disagree. This is what democracy says.
During my whole life, I’ve been struggling with the two ways, the way my self necessitates me to follow and the way my Lord shows me for my felicity. I know that he has been clement with me and this has been the cause. He’s needless of my choice. For this, I’ve tried not to allow my preference affect on my actions, although many times I couldn’t succeed. For this, I’ve never touched a boy, I’ve never kissed a boy, I’ve never let my dreams come true. I wait until a day I’m certain that it will come for me to rule and do whatever I wish. At last, I’ll meet my boys.

        1. I am sorry you hate yourself so much. Its really sad to read. My Mom is a lot like you actually. She has a lot of internalized misogyny. She thinks its normal and ok for sexual abuse to happen to women because its the society she grew up in and its what she was taught.

You grew up believing in a God that hates. And you thus hate yourself so much you prevent yourself from ever being in a happy relationship or doing the kind of things that make humans most happy in their lives. I really hope you can break from that cage you grew up in, and find love for yourself.

    2. “I’m here, because I’m interested in boys. This is what I am. This is different from what I should be.
No it isn’t. It’s EXACTLY what you should be because you were BORN THAT WAY. No matter how much your ignorant parents, your ignorant government and your ignorant society tells you differently, you are gay because you were born gay.

“please don’t assault each time on me. This is what I believe to be right. Anyone’s believes [sic] are honorable and everyone has right to announce his believes [sic].”
They’re NOT honorable if you just spout out bullshit LIES that you’ve been BRAINWASHED to believe, again, constantly by your ignorant parents, your ignorant government and your ignorant society. I’m assuming BY NOW (since you’ve been coming to this site for several years now) you’ve “matured” enough to be able to determine what is right and wrong (or should be). And the ‘proof’ of your recognized truth is the simple fact that you keep coming to this site.

And being “assaulted?” Not really, I’m actually educating you — something your parents should have done many years ago. And the fact that you are rejecting obvious education shows just how fucking brainwashed you really are.

“No one is forced to agree nor disagree.”
No, you’re wrong. You’ve been FORCED to “agree” with the ignorance of your parents, government and society — and your repeated come-backs to this site shows you’re trying to FORCE yourself to disagree with those ignorant factors.

      “This is what democracy says.”
Except you’re not living it — not in your family, not in your government and not in your society.

“During my whole life, I’ve been struggling with the two ways, the way my self necessitates me to follow and the way my Lord shows me for my felicity.”
And yet, you keep coming back to this site because you know, deep in your mind [aka, “your heart”], what the real truth is: you’re gay and you like boys. No amount of brainwashing can change that, because it’s in the absolute makeup of your personality. So, why not dispense with that bullshit of your “religion” [islam]*?

“For this, I’ve never touched a boy, I’ve never kissed a boy, I’ve never let my dreams come true.”
And you never will, most probably because you will be so old that you won’t be attractive to any other boy [of course, using the literal definition of that word] — and because of your deeply withheld frustrations, you will be most likely to feel the insatiable “need” to rape some young boy. And you just stated that very thing: “I wait until a day I’m certain that it will come for me to rule and do whatever I wish.

You come here for the images you like. Now, stay for a real education, and not your bullshit “religious” brainwashing. More proof of that? You’ve posted twice in here under DIFFERENT flags: Ukraine and Germany. You KNOW YOU MUST “SNEAK” past your own ‘flag’ and be seen under a more “free” one.

      * “religion” — you don’t have a “religion” in your state, it’s more accurately: Socio-Political Ideology

      1. Before everything, thank you for the time you spent to think about what i said and answering it.
I always ask myself, what cause you to be so angry every time you’re talking with me, while I’ve not the same feelings about you.
Note that sometimes we argue about something and we’re sure that it’s evidently true, but it’s not and the future shows that it has not been completely right. For a couple of years people have been thinking that Newton has been right about mass and force. Then Einstein comes and proves that he has not been completely right. Now we know what’s the truth and we’re sure about it as people in the time of Newton were. Maybe some day someone comes and shows that the Einstein has not been right too. This happens about science. While the religion is not of kind science. It’s inspired. So it’s not going to change. Quran is inspired, word by word, directly from the Lord. He says that I don’t agree with you doing such stuff with the same sex, as I didn’t. What can I do with it? Reject the words and assume that they’re bullshits while I know they’re not?! Oh no, I prefer to assume that I don’t know what’s the truth, like Newton rules. I prefer not to think that my idea is preferred to what the Lord explicitly says that it’s not true.
Anyway, it’s my ideology, which is based on strong proves. It’s hard for me to explain, but if you’re really looking for it, there’re people to describe better why it’s true.
About the flag, it’s not for hiding my society. It’s just because MB is beyond filtering in my country, and for this, I’ve to use tunneling, VPN, etc.
And the last word, remember that anyone can change their personality and this is what the Lord wants we do.
